On the Road since 2008

I have been working on an 'on the road' photo book for a while. It's tough to put together when you're trying to finish a Ph.D. along with other photo projects but I wanted to share some images. I wish I had the time to curate a small group of images better but this is the best I could do with 10,000 plus images. Since Sandra and I have done all these trips together, we are collaborating on this production, she has made some of these images as well.

Colchester Woods

“One of the penalties of an ecological education is that one lives alone in a world of wounds. Much of the damage inflicted on land is quite invisible to laymen. An ecologist must either harden his shell and make believe that the consequences of science are none of his business, or he must be the doctor who sees the marks of death in a community that believes itself well and does not want to be told otherwise.”

“There is no such thing as death. In nature nothing dies. From each sad remnant of decay, some forms of life arise so shall his life be taken away before he knoweth that he hath it.”

Traveling from CA to CT

Sandra and I have been recording our travels ever since we uprooted ourselves from New Haven to start our Ph.D. programs at ASU. We hope to put a book together based on our experience of being on the road.
